Local Builders Join Forces for Habitat Omaha Blitz Build
As part of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz 2018 (www.habitat.org/volunteer/build-events/home-builders-blitz), professional builders and suppliers provided the labor, funding, and materials to help more families across the U.S. build strength, stability, and self-reliance through improved shelter. Habitat Omaha celebrated its 11th year participating in this special build. The organization partnered with eight local builders to build nine homes in the Adams Park neighborhood from June 4-8. Builders took these homes from foundation to drywall in five days and will put the finishing touches on the houses later this summer. A total of ten homes will be complete before the end of summer, making Habitat Omaha’s total investment in the area more than $1.5 million this year. More than 10 additional homes will be constructed on adjacent streets later this year and in 2019. Special thanks to the following 2018 Home Builders Blitz partners: Build Omaha, JE Dunn Construction, Kiewit, Kitchens Redefined, Lund-Ross Constructors, McLeay Building Company, MCL Construction, and The Weitz Company.
