The Literacy Alive Luncheon will be held Friday, May 11th at The Hilton’s new Blackstone Ballroom on 1001 Cass Street.  The event will be held 11:30 am to 1 pm.  The keynote speaker is Lesra Martin, once an inner city kid dismissed by society.  At age 15 he could neither read nor write, yet his heart carried hope and courage.  He effected profound change in the lives of many, including his own through literacy and education.  Lesra’s story was featured The Hurricane film, starring Denzel Washington.

Complimentary parking is offered in the Hilton garage.
