Lily Haven recently partnered with The Kim Foundation to present at the 2026 EmPOWER Youth Summit in Bellevue, Nebraska, contributing to a day focused on strengthening youth mental health and well-being.

Sarina Thoendel, Executive Director of Lily Haven, led an interactive breakout session titled “Identifying Healthy Friendships,” centered on the guiding question: how young people can build healthy relationships and support others who may be struggling. Designed to be engaging and discussion-based, the session encouraged students to reflect on their own experiences, recognize positive and unhealthy patterns in friendships, and learn practical ways to show up for their peers.

Presented five times throughout the day, the session reached a wide range of students, emphasizing connection, self-awareness, and peer support. Participants engaged in hands-on activities and group discussions, reinforcing key concepts in a way that was both accessible and meaningful.

Lily Haven’s involvement in the summit reflects its commitment to walking alongside young women as they navigate complex life experiences, including trauma, instability, and exploitation. Through safe housing, supportive programming, and education, the organization equips residents with the tools to build healthy relationships, develop confidence, and pursue a future rooted in stability and self-worth extending that same impact into the broader community through opportunities like the EmPOWER Youth Summit.
