La Fuente Business Center (lafuentebusinesscenter.org), a nonprofit organization focused on economic opportunities for immigrant communities, trained 70 aspiring Latino entrepreneurs during the first two weeks of 2026 through its Latino Entrepreneur Accelerator Program. Eighty percent of participants were women of color.

The training included accounting and tax seminars as well as business plan development, providing culturally responsive education designed to help entrepreneurs build financially sustainable businesses. Instruction
covered pricing strategies, operations, customer service, accounting, marketing and financial planning.La Fuente emphasizes hands-on training in Spanish led by experienced professionals and provides ongoing technical assistance from accountants and business consultants. The organization supports entrepreneurs across eastern Nebraska, including Fremont, Lincoln, Crete, Schuyler, Columbus and the greater Omaha area.

The training was supported by United Way of the Midlands, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, FNBO, the Weitz Family Foundation, the Community Foundation for Western Iowa, the City of Omaha and The Sherwood Foundation.
