Kids’ Chance of Nebraska Calls for Eligible Scholarship Applicants

Kids’ Chance of Nebraska (KCNE; www.kidschanceofne.org) is calling for all who qualify for one of their scholarships to apply today. KCNE provides scholarships to children whose parents have suffered a workplace injury or death. KCNE is living by their name—they’re giving kids a chance. Scholarship applications can be accessed online and are due April 15.

Kids’ Chance exists because workers’ compensation pays the medical expenses and lost wages when a worker is injured on the, job but they don’t take into account the costs of post-secondary education for children of the injured worker. Often families who have suffered such a tragedy are forced to care for the injured individual and do not have the funding to send their children to college.

Kids’ Chance of Nebraska is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to provide financial support to further the education of the children of Nebraska workers who have been severely injured, totally disabled, or killed as a result of employment-related injuries or occupational diseases. It is the goal of Kids’ Chance of Nebraska to make a difference in the lives of these children by providing scholarships to help eligible students achieve both their educational goals and their families’ dreams. Email kidschanceofnebraska@gmail.com with any questions or go online to www.kidschanceofne.org to apply for eligible students, no matter the age of the children.
