Keep Nebraska Beautiful (KNB) (knb.org) is thrilled to announce that they have been awarded litter and waste grants from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) for 2025. This milestone achievement will allow KNB to expand and enhance several critical programs statewide.

These grants will bolster efforts across a range of initiatives, including:

  • School Chemical Cleanout Campaign: Helping rid school chemistry and janitorial closets of high hazard and legacy chemicals, leading to cleaner, safer schools.
  • Materials Exchange Program: Connecting industrial and manufacturing concerns through peer-to-peer reuse exchanges, as well as facilitating furniture and supply donations to nonprofits/ schools.
  • Used Oil Collection Program: Ensuring safe and environmentally friendly disposal of used oil through collection tanks across the state.
  • Food Waste Program: Spreading awareness and providing educational resources to reduce residential food waste.

These programs are at the core of their goal to foster cleaner, safer and more sustainable communities across all of Nebraska. KNB is deeply grateful for the trust and support from NDEE, which makes their work possible.
