Keep Nebraska Beautiful (KNB) (knb.org) is proud to unveil its newly revamped youth program, CleanGreenZoNE. Formerly known as the Litter-Free School Zones program, CleanGreenZoNE is designed to engage all youth-led groups across Nebraska in environmental stewardship. This expanded initiative provides schools, clubs and community groups with the tools and resources necessary to organize litter cleanups, launch recycling campaigns and to participate in activities that promote a cleaner environment.

Building on the success of the previous program, CleanGreenZoNE broadens its focus to include not only litter cleanups, but also recycling initiatives and environmental education. The program aims to empower young people to become environmental leaders, encouraging them to adopt and promote the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot (compost)” principles. Through these efforts, CleanGreenZoNE strives to minimize waste and foster a culture of sustainability among Nebraska’s youth.

To participate in CleanGreenZoNE, youth groups are encouraged to sign up by completing the registration form available at knb.org/school-programs/cgzone/. Participants are asked to commit to organizing at least two cleanups per year and to submit quarterly report cards detailing their efforts. KNB will provide ongoing support and reminders to ensure groups stay engaged and motivated.

By joining CleanGreenZoNE, Nebraska’s youth can take an active role in keeping their communities clean, green and beautiful.
