Join Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum for Makers Market Celebration
The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum (sacmuseum.org) is excited to present Makers Market, an event that encompasses different genres of arts, inventions, and hands-on learning from tinkers, hobbyists, engineers, authors, artists, and DIYers. On Saturday, November 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the museum will transform into a market where the public will be able to learn from the makers and shop the booths.
Makers Market will allow participants to show what they are making and share what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts, to crafters and artists, to junk tinkerers. “This is a show like no other in the State,” said Aly Rasmussen, the museum’s event coordinator. “Makers Market is intended to bring makers together from around the state and to entertain, inform, connect, and inspire visitors.”
There are over 50 booths featuring a variety of objects, anything from handmade items, glass blowing, screen printing, quilting, photography, pottery, wood turning, welding, music made from everyday objects, and items made from recycled materials. There are panel discussions, classes, talks, and demonstrations throughout the event.
Makers Market is included in the cost of general admission. Members are free; adults – $12; military and seniors – $11; children ages 4-12 – $6; and children 3 and under are free.
