August 2nd marks the date for the 2025 Spirit of and Courage gala held at the Mid-America Center. Since 2003, the Jennie Edmundson Foundation (jehfoundation.org) Spirit of Courage events have raised over $2 million to support our cancer patients. Each year four individuals are recognized as they share their remarkable stories of courage during their battle with cancer. This year’s honorees are four amazing individuals – Rich Belt, Kelly Dix, Danny Elliff and Gene Walter.
To kick off our Spirit of Courage event, a celebrity golf tournament at Dodge Riverside Golf Club begins at 8:00 a.m. That evening, a magnificent gala begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and opening remarks at 7:00 p.m., followed by the four distinguished honorees sharing their incredible stories. One hundred percent of the net proceeds raised goes to the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital—Spirit of Courage Cancer Charitable Patient Care Fund through the JE Foundation. The funds raised are crucial in providing financial support in helping cancer patients facing financial challenges. These funds help uninsured and underinsured patients needing assistance covering expenses associated with their diagnosis and treatment of cancer by assisting with medications, treatments, and deductibles, as well as everyday living expenses such as groceries, rent, and gas are available. Without this type of support, these vulnerable members of our community would simply forgo treatment and/or medications.
The event offers a fun day of golfing, an evening filed with a wine pull, silent and oral auctions and delicious food with family and friends.
Sign up now for the golf tournament and purchase your tickets to the gala by visiting jehfoundation.org, or by calling (712) 396-6040.
