Since 2003, the Jennie Edmundson Foundation Spirit of Courage (jehfoundation.org) event has raised over $2 million to support our cancer patients. Saturday, August 3 marks the date for the 2024 Spirit of Courage Celebrity Weekend celebration held at the Mid-America Center. Each year they celebrate and honor four individuals who join them to share their remarkable stories of courage during their battle with cancer. This year they are honoring four amazing individuals at our 2024 event–Travis Meier, Kathy Runde, Terry Thomas and Stacia Thompson.
On Saturday, August 3 they kick off our Spirit of Courage weekend with a golf tournament at Dodge Riverside Golf Club at 8:00 a.m. That evening is celebrated with a gala beginning at 6:00 p.m.; dinner and opening remarks at 7:00 p.m. followed by the introductions of their distinguished guests as they share their incredible stories. The net proceeds from the events go to the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital Spirit of Courage Cancer Charitable Patient Care Fund through the Jennie Edmundson Foundation. The funds raised are crucial in providing financial support in helping cancer patients who face financial challenges. These funds help meet their needs as they progress through their treatments. Thanks to the generosity of their donors, we can assist patients in paying for medications, treatments and deductibles as well as everyday living expenses such as groceries, rent and gas.
