Our community counts on Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital to provide the most advanced care possible. However, their current Cath Labs are 16 years old. The Jennie Edmundson Foundation (jehfoundation.org) is now reinvesting in these labs to ensure the future of cardiac and vascular care for patients in southwest and western Iowa.
Cath Labs, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, are specialized facilities in hospitals where minimally invasive procedures for diagnosing and treating heart conditions are performed. These labs are equipped with advanced imaging technology and medical equipment that allow cardiologists and healthcare professionals to visualize the heart’s blood vessels and chambers.
Without newer technology, patients from across our region might be transferred to another hospital miles away at a time when every second counts. This level of access, “close to home,” will help save lives and save patients the time, money and stress of traveling to Omaha or Des Moines.
