On Aug. 1 the 24th annual Spirit of and Courage fundraising event was held at the Mid-America Center. This year, the Jennie Edmunson Foundation (jehfoundation.org) recognized four amazing individuals: Bob Martens, Jennifer Potmesil, Kathy Racine and Abby Robinson. During the evening guests had the opportunity to meet these incredible individuals.

Kicking off the Spirit of Courage event, a celebrity golf tournament was held at Dodge Riverside Golf Club. That evening, a magnificent gala was held where the four distinguished honorees shared their courageous stories through videos and their personal thank you. During the evening, guests took part in silent and oral auctions, raffles, wine pull, dinner and more.

They are immensely proud to say 100% of the net proceeds raised goes to the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital—Spirit of Courage Cancer Charitable Patient Care Fund through the JE Foundation. These gifts are crucial in providing financial support to cancer patients facing economic challenges. The funds go to help uninsured and underinsured patients needing help to cover expenses associated with their diagnosis and treatment of cancer. They also go to aid with their medications, treatments, and deductibles, as well as everyday living expenses such as groceries, rent, and gas.

If you were unable to attend the Spirit of Courage fundraiser and would like to give a donation, there is still time to make a gift through the “Fund a Need”. Please visit the website at jehfoundation.org, or call (712) 396-6040 for more information.
