For many individuals with disabilities, the right piece of equipment or home modification can make all the difference in living more independently. Through United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska’s (ucpnebraska.org) Client Assistance Grant program, families and individuals can access financial support for items and services that improve independence, reduce barriers and enhance quality of life.
The program provides limited grants to qualified applicants based on financial need. Funding may be used for adaptive equipment and assistive devices that are often not covered by insurance, home or vehicle modifications and scholarships for opportunities such as summer camps, recreational programs, sports and specialized training. These resources not only increase independence but also support caregivers and create greater opportunities for participation in everyday life.
Last year, UCP of Nebraska awarded more than $40,000 in Client Assistance Grants, helping individuals across the state gain access to equipment, experiences and services that might otherwise be out of reach.
