Liability issues, new FMLA regulations, and the NLRB will all take the spotlight at the next HRAM program. Chad Richter, a partner in the Omaha Jackson Lewis office, will keynote the event. His presentation, “The Top Ten Employer Mistakes that Create Liability in 2014”, will give an overview of staying in compliance with the ever-changing employment practices and policies.  Attendees will learn the latest changes in labor and employment law, gain an understanding of mistakes that create liability, and will receive recommendations on practices and policies that can help them avoid liability. Following the keynote, Steve Bogue, an attorney at McGrath North, will discuss new amendments to the FMLA during a technical session. A second technical session will feature Robert Lepp from McGill, Gotsdiner, Workman & Lepp, PC, LLO. Mr. Lepp will discuss Section 7 of the NLRA, which protects concerted activity engaged in by both union and non-union employers, and new rulings dealing with social media and employer policies.

The February program will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at the Scott Conference Center on the UNO campus at 6450 Pine Street. The general public is invited to attend. Tickets can be purchased online until February 5.  For more information about HRAM, please call (402) 932-1007 or visit www.hram.org.
