Open Door Mission (opendoormission.org) will be helping more people in the community struggling to make ends meet during the holiday season as they have seen an over 20% increase in people needing their services from last year, and a 9% decrease in donations. They need businesses, groups, individuals and families to host a drive or shop their Amazon Wish List.
You can help by hosting a Turkey N Fixins Food drive for Thanksgiving, Project Santa Toy Drive for Christmas or Christmas Bells Drive. Needed food items are stuffing, mashed potatoes, canned fruit, turkey, ham etc. Open Door Mission’s Project Santa provides toys for kids in the community so that everyone will have gifts for Christmas. Suggested items: toddler toys, action figures, dolls, Barbies, toy cars, Play-Doh sets, Play Doh! Sets etc.
You can provide gifts for hurting adults at Christmas with a Christmas Bells drive. Items needed men’s and women’s new underwear, deodorant, men’s large and XL gloves and more. Get more information and link to wish lists at opendoormission.org/get-involved/urgent-needs.
Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the needs of individuals and families while inspiring HOPE for lasting change.
