Many kind-hearted animal lovers want to help homeless pets but are unable to adopt due to life circumstances. Hearts United for Animals (HUA) (hua.org) is proud to offer a meaningful way for these supporters to make a difference through its Buddy Program.
The HUA Buddy Program allows individuals to provide direct support to a specific cat or dog who has touched their heart. For a minimum monthly donation of just $10, buddies can help care for their chosen animal while they wait for a loving forever home. This support helps offset daily care needs such as food, shelter, and enrichment.
As part of the program, each buddy may write a personal message that is proudly displayed on the animal’s webpage, offering encouragement and showing potential adopters just how loved that pet already is. When the animal is adopted, buddies are notified and thanked for their generosity and compassion during the animal’s stay at HUA.
At that point, participants may choose to support another animal or discontinue their monthly donation. Due to the program’s popularity, HUA has expanded the Buddy Program to allow multiple buddies for a single animal, because one can never have too many friends.
