Heartland Hope Mission Meets $20K Fundraising Goal to Fix Delivery Truck
In April, Heartland Hope Mission (heartlandhopemission.org) announced that, thanks to the support of the community, they successfully raised $10,000 more dollars to reach their fundraising goal of $20,000, the amount needed to repair their cube truck. After the campaign concluded, the final total for funds raised was $24,082. The Heartland Hope Mission’s cube truck is used for delivery services as part of their mission to serve those in need locally.
The mission of Heartland Hope Mission is to be more than a pantry by providing clients with resources to be food secure and self-sufficient in a hope-filled environment. At Heartland Hope Mission’s South Omaha and Millard food pantries, working poor families choose a week’s supply of nutritious groceries, including milk, frozen meat, and fresh produce to prepare well-balanced meals at home. Clients also receive clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and access to a client service specialist, who assists with SNAP (food stamp) applications and navigational services. Last year, over 45,000 people received food at Heartland Hope Mission.
In addition to assisting the needy with food and other necessities, Heartland Hope also performs seasonal drives to bring cheer to needy families during the holidays. To find out how you can support Heartland Hope Mission, visit heartlandhopemission.org or contact (402) 733-1904.
