Heartland Hope Mission Helps Children Who Face Food Insecurity with Food this Summer
Heartland Hope Mission (HeartlandHopeMission.org) sees an increase of clients in the summer with kids being home and many aren’t receiving the free or reduced priced breakfast and lunch they rely on during the school year. Many in the community are not able to afford enough groceries for the family while they are struggling to make ends meet. You can help to make sure that no child goes hungry this summer by donating kid-friendly foods like macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, ramen noodles, and snacks. Shop our Amazon Smile Wishlist and have items delivered directly to our door. You can also make monetary donations on the nonprofit’s website.
Heartland Hope Mission operates one of the largest food pantries in the state, but they are “More Than a Pantry” since they help families work toward self-sufficiency. They primarily serve working poor families and those facing a crisis by providing a week’s supply of food, as well as clothing, diapers, job resources, and community referrals. Like and follow Heartland Hope Mission on Facebook or follow on LinkedIn and Instagram to stay up to date on all the important work they are doing in the community or visit HeartlandHopeMission.org.
