Heartland Hope Mission Brightens the Holidays with Toy Drives
Heartland Hope Mission (heartlandhopemission.org) invites you to host a toy drive this holiday season. Volunteering your time and talents can make the season bright for low-income families in our city. Hosting a toy drive is a great way to help low-income children have a Merry Christmas. Last year, over 1,200 kids received toys at Heartland Hope Mission’s Christmas in South O (CSO) toy distribution. The mission is asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys for kids ages birth to 17.
The mission of Heartland Hope Mission is to be more than a pantry by providing clients with resources to be food secure and self-sufficient in a hope filled environment. All services are distributed locally. At Heartland Hope Mission’s South Omaha and Millard food pantries, working poor families choose a week’s supply of nutritious groceries, including milk, frozen meat, and fresh produce to prepare well-balanced meals at home. Clients also receive clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and access to a Client Service Specialist, who assists with SNAP (food stamp) applications and navigational services. Last year, over 45,000 people received food at Heartland Hope Mission.
