Heartland Family Service has received a $25,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation to support its Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault program. The donation will enrich one of the organization’s most impactful programs, Mujeres Y Valores (Women and Values). The group supports Spanish-speaking domestic violence victims in the community.
Funding also will be used to provide access to on-site, immediate therapy for victims and their children to help them overcome the trauma they have experienced. For more than a decade, Verizon, through its various business units and its philanthropic foundation, has been a champion of ending domestic violence. This funding will also be used to provide access to on-site, immediate therapy for victims and their children to help them overcome the trauma they have experienced.
