Green Plains Sponsors American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Corporate Cup
The American Lung Association (Lung.org) in Nebraska announced in July that Green Plains, Inc. will again be the presenting sponsor of the Association’s Fight For Air Corporate Cup on September 8 at Aksarben Village. This 10K and 2-Mile run/walk benefits the Lung Association in Nebraska with almost 90% of the proceeds going towards helping fund local support of education, research, and advocacy in finding a cure for lung disease. As the presenting sponsor for the third consecutive year, Green Plains will invest more than $25,000 in the fight for clean air and healthy lungs.
The locally-based company, which produces cleaner-burner fuels, has invested more than $85,000 with the local Lung Association over the last few years in an effort to support local organizations that share in their vision to reduce vehicle emissions. Green Plains’ investment in the Corporate Cup will help fund the Lung Association’s work to reduce air pollution, advocacy efforts to prevent lung disease and educational programs to support the 200,000 people in Nebraska who live with lung disease.
