The Good Samaritan Society – Millard is going into the community to install grab bars, raised toilet seats, improved lighting, shower chairs and other equipment that can help prevent falls in a senior’s home.
The goal is to place equipment in the homes of 10 seniors during the week of Sept. 22-26, says Joanne Carlberg, director of resident and community relations for Millard. About 30 volunteers have already agreed to assist with the work.
The work is being done in conjunction with the Good Samaritan Society’s Founder’s Day Service Project. Millard is joining Society locations nationwide that are organizing similar projects to mark the 92nd anniversary of the organization’s founding on Sept. 29, 1922.
The Good Samaritan Society – Millard is coordinating its efforts with the Eastern Nebraska Office of Aging in conjunction with its 40th anniversary.
