First Responders Foundation Unveils 2021 Class Schedule for Responders and Families

The First Responders Foundation (firstrespondersfoundation.org) announced its 2021 schedule for classes, workshops, and support groups for first responders and their families. Through the First Responders Support Team (FRST), monthly peer support groups meet the first Tuesday of each month and spouse support groups meet the first Friday of the month, both in-person and via Telehealth. The first quarterly workshop for first responders and their significant others, called Stronger Together, is on tap for February 27, and a With Honor workshop for first responders planning retirement—to help them identify with a new career and life—is scheduled for January 19.

The list goes on, including a weekly Substance Use Support Group that meets on Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m. and is aimed at first responders who want help to maintain sobriety, in a safe, empathetic place. Physical health and fitness classes also are available at the new Wellness Center. Open gym will be available, with membership, starting on January 18. Specialized yoga classes are offered, including free first responders yoga the last Tuesday of each month. There is even a weekly exercise program with a spiritual component available, in addition to nutrition coaching and free nutrition classes.

The mission of the First Responders Foundation is to serve and honor all first responders, veterans, and their families, build appreciation and respect for their work, and enhance public safety.
