The final deadline to register for most events in the 2025 Cornhusker State Games is Wednesday, July 2. Hosted by the Nebraska Sports Council (cornhuskerstategames.com), the annual Olympic-style sports festival offers more than 70 events for Nebraskans of all ages and skill levels. Competitions take place July 11–20 at venues across the state.

Sports range from fan favorites like basketball, volleyball, and wrestling to niche activities including fencing, chess, and powerlifting. Participants can expect high-quality competition, organized venues, and a chance to earn gold, silver, or bronze medals in their respective events.

This year, the Games will receive national attention as part of ESPN’s SportsCenter: 50 States in 50 Days series. Nebraska’s feature will air July 15 and include highlights from the Cornhusker State Games, showcasing the state’s active culture, dedicated volunteers, and wide-ranging community involvement.

“The exposure from ESPN is a huge opportunity to showcase our state’s commitment to healthy activity and friendly competition,” said Nebraska Sports Council President Dave Mlnarik.
