Open Door Mission is excited to continue its tradition of keeping hope alive for men, women and families in the Omaha area by breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty in 2015 through its Hope Tote initiative. Hope Tote bags are filled with personal care items and distributed to local homeless men, women and children. Items include toothbrush and toothpaste, facial tissues and toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, feminine products, pain relievers (ibuprofen and acetaminophen), non-alcoholic cough medicines, hand sanitizer or lotion, disposable razors and shaving cream, deodorant, underwear and socks, combs and brushes, etc. Hotel products work perfectly as donations, and donations can be made to the program directly through Open Door Mission.
