The CUES School System (cuesschools.org.) is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of its Father Tom Fangman Community Playground at Sacred Heart on April 17. This groundbreaking is the beginning of a new era for Sacred Heart. Finally the students at Sacred Heart will have a place to play after not having a playground for over six years.

Located at the heart of a beloved neighborhood in North Omaha, the Father Tom Fangman Playground represents a significant milestone in CUES’s ongoing commitment to enriching the lives of their students, families and community. This vibrant space will be meticulously designed by Eric Crouch and Crouch Recreation to foster creativity, promote physical activity and encourage meaningful connections among families and friends.

Key features of the Father Tom Fangman Community Playground include: inclusive design, interactive play structures, out-door learning spaces and community gathering areas.

This groundbreaking ceremony occurred on April 17, at Sacred Heart School. The Sacred Heart staff, students and parents got together with Father Tom and the CUES staff to celebrate the beginning of the construction.

The playground is set to be finished in August. They will host a ribbon cutting ceremony in the fall to celebrate the new playground!

CUES is a bold educational initiative providing centralized leadership and governance to three urban elementary schools in Omaha serving a majority of low-income students and families. For more information, go to cuesschools.org.
