Family Housing Advisory Services Reports Success of Omaha 100, Inc. Program
Family Housing Advisory Services, Inc. (FHAS; www.fhasinc.org) is pleased to announce that Omaha 100, Inc., which is FHAS’s homeownership program, helped 33 Habitat for Humanity families realize the dream of homeownership in 2018, with homes totaling $4 million. Borrowers received $600,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance through partially forgivable loans and grants to purchase new construction, renovated or existing homes. Along their homeownership journey, FHAS’s borrowers have improved their finances, reduced their debt, and improved their credit.
FHAS has been dedicated to improving quality of life by helping people achieve housing stability and financial security. Over 50 years, the organization has developed solutions in response to a broad range of housing issues that have surfaced in and plagued our community. Through a unique combination of comprehensive services, FHAS prevents homelessness, educates homeowners, provides foreclosure prevention options, develops financially-wise consumers (including youth transitioning out of foster care), offers affordable mortgage lending options, eliminates housing discrimination, and reduces poverty through access to tax credits.
