Educare of Omaha, Inc. (educareomaha.org) is pleased to partner with Sixpence Early Learning Fund to provide home visiting services to babies, toddlers and parents of children prenatal to age three in Douglas County.

“We know that parents are a child’s first and best teachers. Our home visitors partner with them to provide educational activities, health and development screenings and guidance and support in creating and reaching family goals,” Executive Director Rafel O. Hart said.

Home visitors from Educare meet with parents and children weekly. Three visits occur in the family’s home, and the fourth week offers an opportunity to meet with other families in the program as a group. Gathering together allows participants to make social connections and learn about community resources and child development.

The program is voluntary and free to eligible families in Douglas County. Participants are asked to commit to meetings for at least eight months.
