Dr. Roger Curry was recognized as “Volunteer of the Year” by The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society on June 25th.  Dr. Roger Curry began visiting a friend at Good Samaritan Society-Millard in 1974. He was asked by the Administrator in 1977 to start a Sunday church service. Each Sunday at 4:00 p.m. for the past 35 years he has made this a priority. In the beginning, Dr. Curry incorporated his small children in to the worship service.  Now he includes his Creighton Dental Students.

From a letter he wrote for the 35th Anniversary of the Sunday services, Curry says “It has been my privilege to continue it (church service) to the present time. ‘In Christ’s Love, Everyone is Someone’ was true in 1977 and is relived on a daily basis at Good Samaritan and I’m proud to play just a small part in that.” He is and always will be a vital member of Good Samaritan Society’s family and mission, and it is easy to see why he was voted unanimously as “Volunteer of the Year.”
