The Douglas County Historical Society honored Joni Fogarty by presenting her with the 2013 “Women Defining History” award at the Glamour & Glitz Runway Show and Luncheon on March 23rd. The award serves to honor a woman who inspires, challenges, and serves as a model for others to strengthen our community through philanthropic outreach, tenacity, courage and creativity. Joni has been involved throughout the community as an award-winning educator, historian and preservationist.
In honor of Women’s History Month, Douglas County Historical Society’s Third Annual Costume Collection Runway Show, Luncheon and Exhibition, entitled Glamour and Glitz, featured 20th Century evening wear from the golden age of fashion in the 1920’s through the statements of personal freedom in the 1960’s. Proceeds from the event will support Douglas County artifact preservation.
