Date Announced for 4th Annual “Wheels of Courage” Car Show
Car enthusiasts of all ages, clear your calendar on Saturday, June 23 to attend the Wheels of Courage Car Show (www.jehfoundation.org/events/wheels-of-courage) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Quaker Steak & Lube in Council Bluffs.
The Wheels of Courage Car Show is an important annual event to support the Jennie Edmundson Foundation’s Spirit of Courage Charitable Patient Care Fund. “It’s a fun event that brings together hundreds of car enthusiasts, sponsors, and community members to help raise money for local cancer patients,” shares co-chair Pat Miller.
There are 11 car categories that are open to the public. First, second and third place trophies will be presented. “New this year we will have a professional judging company,” says Denny Devine, committee member. Each year the number of car entries grows, as do the dollars raised. “We will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets every Thursday night starting May through September during the ‘Car Cruise-in’ at Quaker Steak & Lube,” shares Carol Elder, Planning Committee.
Proceeds benefit the Spirit of Courage Charitable Patient Fund, helping to ease the financial burdens of cancer patients in the areas of medications, treatments, and deductibles, as well as everyday living expenses. The funds provide much-needed help to hundreds of Methodist Jennie Edmundson patients each year.
