Completely KIDS (completelykids.org) is on a mission to make sure every child in Omaha feels special this holiday season. For many of the more than 2,500 KIDS the organization serves, poverty makes it difficult for families to meet even their most basic needs. For some children, the gift they receive from a donor may be the only one they open this year.
Each year, the Completely KIDS holiday gift drive ensures that every child in the program receives something meaningful. Sponsors are matched with a child’s wish list and can purchase a gift that is personal and special. There is no limit to the number of children one sponsor can support. Groups and organizations are also encouraged to host larger drives, with staff assisting closely to ensure a successful effort.
This year, supporters can take it a step further by sponsoring holiday parties and activities for families. These celebrations provide food, games, crafts and time together, creating lasting memories that extend beyond the gifts.
“When resources are limited, the holidays can feel out of reach,” said CEO Carla Rizzo. “That’s why at Completely KIDS, we go beyond gifts and create opportunities for families to celebrate and connect.”
