December 20-22, over 300 community members and businesses dropped off gifts for over 700 men, women and children experiencing homelessness through Open Door Mission’s (opendoormission.org) “Adopt a Guest” program. A community member was paired with a person or family and bought gifts on each person’s wish list and wrapped them. They were asked to spend $100 per person on clothes and other wish list items.

“We live in such a generous community,” says Candace Gregory, President/CEO of Open Door Mission. “We recognize that this has been a challenging time for so many people. It is so touching to see so many people in our community bringing in gifts for men, women and children. We want every person to feel special and to know their community does care about them.”

Santa Claus will then deliver the gifts on Christmas Eve after a special Christmas Eve Brunch.
