While it may still feel hot outside, winter will be here before we know it. Completely KIDS (completelykids.org) is asking the community to help ensure every child is warm, safe and ready for the season by donating new winter coats during its annual Winter Coat Drive, August 10 through October 9.
As a trusted place in the community, Completely KIDS removes barriers so KIDS and families can thrive. Their annual donation drives provide essential items that help children stay healthy, engaged in school and prepared for everyday life.
With Nebraska’s unpredictable weather and the reality that children quickly outgrow last year’s coat, the need is constant. A new winter coat does more than provide warmth. It helps children stay healthy, attend school and experience the confidence that comes from knowing someone cares.
Completely KIDS hopes to collect 500 new winter coats in sizes Child XS through Adult XL.
New coats may be dropped off at Completely KIDS, 2566 St. Mary’s Avenue, Omaha. Supporters can also purchase a coat through their Amazon Wish List (a.co/018KM6xW) and have it shipped directly to Completely KIDS, or make a suggested donation of $25-$30 at completelykids.org. Please write “Coat Drive” in the memo field.
Individuals, families, businesses, schools, churches and community groups are encouraged to host a coat collection. To learn more or organize a drive, contact icastillo@completelykids.org.
Together, we can help every child enter winter warm, confident and ready to succeed.
