Child Saving Institute Guild to Host PurseOnalities October 2

The Child Saving Institute (CSI; childsaving.org) Guild will host its annual fundraising luncheon, PurseOnalities, Wednesday, October 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Hilton Downtown, 1001 Cass St. The theme is “Hometown Heroes” and the funds raised will positively impact children and families who have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma.

The event features a silent auction of extraordinary purse packages and the opportunity to shop on-site from some of Omaha’s most popular boutique’s, with a portion of their sales proceeds being donated back to CSI. Shopping begins at 10:30 a.m. The silent auction begins at 11 a.m. and the luncheon and program begins at 11:45 a.m. Individual tickets start at $75 and table sponsorships start at $1,500. Event Chairs are Seirra Burt, Sara DeMers, Gina McDevitt, and Carissa Schrager. Honorary Chair is community philanthropist Beth Schrager.

The luncheon will feature speaker and author Patrick Friman, Ph.D. He is vice president of outpatient behavioral health services and clinical professor in the University of Nebraska School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and author of three books Dr. Friman’s work has concentrated on the gap between primary medical care for children and referral-based clinical child psychological and psychiatric care.

For 127 years, Child Saving Institute has been “Responding to the cry of a child” and meeting the changing needs of metro area children based on the belief that all children should have homes where hope is kindled and dreams can be achieved. CSI served nearly 2,700 children and families in 2018.
