CenterPointe Granted Certification to Provide Full Slate of Health Services
As of August 1, CenterPointe officially began operating as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC). The certification means that CenterPointe now can provide a comprehensive and integrated range of mental-health, substance-use, and primary-health services to any individual, regardless of ability to pay, to improve outcomes via strong collaborative-care coordination. This includes a far wider range of physical-health services, including sick visits, injuries, women’s healthcare, management of chronic conditions, adult immunizations, and more.
A two-year grant of $2 million per year from the National Institutes of Health, Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) makes the expansion possible. The new status also allows CenterPointe the opportunity to create strong community partnerships, including but not limited to Bluestem Health FQHC, Bryan Health, The Crisis Center, Families Inspiring Families, HopeSpoke, Lincoln Public Schools, St. Elizabeth’s, Lincoln Police Department, CEDARS, The Bridge Behavioral Health, Mental Health Crisis Center of Lancaster County, Veterans Administration, Nebraska Urban Indian Health Coalition, and Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.
CCBHC certification has been an organizational goal for CenterPointe more than a decade and represents the organization’s next step toward being a holistic, integrated health clinic. By treating the whole person, mental health, physical health, and addiction all can be addressed together in real time.
