Catholic Charities’ fourth annual Hunger Run-Walk will take place on Saturday June 6 at the downtown Con Agra Campus. A timed 5k run and walk, all proceeds will benefit Catholic Charities’ three food pantries: St. Martin de Porres in north Omaha, Juan Diego Center in south Omaha and St. Joseph’s rectory in Walthill, Neb. The 5-kilometer run-walk and 1-mile walk are open to the community.
Now through April 30, registration fees are $30 for adults, $20 for students 13-17 and $5 for the Kid’s Dash (12 and under). May 1st through June 5th, registration fees are $35 for adults, $25 for students and day of the race, registration fees are $40 for adults and $30 for students. Registration includes a dri-fit shirt for all participants
Participation supports Catholic Charities efforts to feed more than 7,500 families. Summer means an increase in hunger because schools provide many underprivileged children with two of their daily meals during the school year, so families have to turn to other community resources for help.
Participants can register online at www.ccomaha.org. The course runs in Downtown Omaha from ConAgra Campus to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge (and back). Free parking offered to the first 300 cars in the ConAgra lot.
