Camp Summergold Looks Onward to 2021, Encourages At-Home Collage Making
With the health and safety risk presented by COVID-19 to Camp Summergold’s (www.campsummergold.com) campers and staff, it is with a heavy heart they have announced their decision to cancel all 2020 programming. The leadership team is already planning for the 2021 camp schedule, which will run between June 6–12. You can help send girls to camp in 2021 by supporting Camp Summergold on May 20 through Omaha Gives! and on May 28 through Give to Lincoln Day.
In addition, Camp Summergold is encouraging families to make collages (8.5” x 11”) at home with the theme of TEAMWORK! Collages are a piece of art made by sticking various different materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric on to a backing. Camp Summergold campers love making collages, and since they won’t be able to make them together at camp now, they can still make them at home and share them on the Camp Summergold website. Send a picture of your finished collage to info@campsummergold.com.
Camp Summergold’s mission is based on bringing a diverse community of girls together in a fun and safe environment. Kids need camp! It’s a safe structured time away from home where campers learn to make choices, get interested in new things, and meet new people.
