An Eagle of Honor is coming to Council Bluffs!  As part of the Pottawattamie County Eagles of Honor Project, we are pleased to announce that the eagle, Freedom with Honor, will be located at the Historic Rock Island Depot at South Main and 16th Avenue.  The Depot is also home to the RailsWest Train Museum.  Council

Bluffs will join 12 other communities in Pottawattamie County having an Eagle of Honor.

The Eagle of Honor is a monument to honor all Veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States.  The Eagle is designed to pay tribute to those Veterans and their families who have served in the past, that are presently serving and that will serve in the future.  The Eagle is a bronze American Bald Eagle, 42 inches high, designed by artist Russell Christensen of Neola, Iowa.

The next step in the project is fundraising. The majority of the funds will come from selling bricks and bronze plaques that can be inscribed for the plaza.  The prices range from $100 to $5,000.00.  Any donor pledging $5,000.00 or more will have special recognition in the plaza.
