For the second year in a row, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands has been recognized as one of the top 50 Best Non Profits to Work For. This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands ranked #24 on the national list of fifty organizations. The agency ranked #8 in the Small Organizations category, up two spots from the previous rank in 2012. Recognition of this honor was also included in the April 1, 2013 issue of The NonProfit Times. The awards program was created in 2010 and was conducted by the Best Companies Group of Harrisburg, PA. The nationwide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the non-profit sector, which benefits the industry’s economy, workforce and businesses.
For more than 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands has been nurturing children and strengthening the community by pairing up Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Big Couples with youth between the ages of 7-18 in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area. The donor supported, volunteer organization has 23 staff members and serves more than 800 children each year.
