Best Care EAP to Hold First HR Insight Talk and February Workshop on Fatigue

Best Care EAP (Employee Assistance Program; www.bestcareeap.org) will host their first out of four HR Insight talk series on Tuesday, February 11, 8–9 a.m. at the Best Care EAP office located at 9239 West Center Rd., STE 201. This brand new quarterly series will allow HR professionals the opportunity to candidly discuss ways to combat both major and minor issues HR professionals are faced with on a daily basis. This session will allow participants the opportunity to be a part of an insightful round table discussion on the burning issues keeping them and their colleagues up at night.

In addition, on Tuesday, February 25, Best Care EAP will hold a half-day boot camp for identifying and preventing compassion fatigue. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the Best Care EAP office. Compassion fatigue is the emotional residue of exposure to working with the suffering, particularly those suffering from the consequences of traumatic events. Many professionals have experienced compassion fatigue and there is help available. It’s important to be able to identify the early signs of physical and emotional stress. Working day in and day out with people who are suffering from physical or emotional trauma can challenge even the most resilient caregiver. Professionals who work with people who are suffering must contend with not only the normal stress of work, but also their own emotional and personal compassionate feelings for the suffering.
