BBC Online Features BLUEBARN Theatre
BLUEBARN Theatre (bluebarn.org) was featured in a recent edition of BBC Culture in the new Designed section!
Dominic Lutyens’ story, entitled “A Brave New World of Theatre Design: How Theatres Went From Bland to Bold,” looks at trends in new theatre construction around the world. Highlighted in the article are newly constructed theatres in New York, Great Britain, and China, as well as Omaha’s BLUEBARN Theatre. The BLUEBARN, designed by the Min|Day architecture firm, opened in 2015 as the first stand-alone theatre structure to appear in Omaha in a generation. Jeff Day of Min|Day comments in the article that “designers are motivated by a desire for warmth and a welcoming atmosphere.” Read the article here: www.bbc.com/culture/story/20180122-how-theatre-design-has-become-flamboyant-and-flexible.
