Autism Action Partnership (AAP) is excited to announce the Guys Group (G2), a new community and social group for dads and caretakers with loved ones impacted by autism.
The Guys Group was created to provide a welcoming space for dads, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, husbands, and other male caregivers to connect with others who share similar experiences. While many support opportunities exist for parents and caregivers, there are limited options specifically designed for men navigating the unique joys and challenges of supporting an autistic loved one.
The Guys Group aims to foster meaningful connections and cultivate a supportive network for men navigating the autism journey alongside their loved ones.
“The concept for the Guys Group came from a few local autism dads, who want to create a community where their male peers can connect. Autism Action Partnership is honored to help facilitate this initiative and help bring their vision to life,” said AAP President Justin Dougherty.
The group will host monthly social gatherings and provide opportunities to connect through an online community. Meeting locations will vary based on member interests and opportunities throughout the Omaha metro area. Gatherings will primarily take place in the evenings on the fourth Thursday of each month.
