Amplify Arts Increases Grant Opportunities in Light of COVID-19 Repercussions on Artists

Amplify Arts (https://www.amplifyarts.org/) recently increased its grant monies available to area artists after getting the results of a COVID-19 Continuing Impact Survey that reveals how severely the pandemic is affecting artists on a national level. Completed in partnership with Mid-America Arts Alliance, 6% of the responses were Nebraskan artists, and the results indicate that:

  • Almost one in five (18.2%) of responding artists have lost 100% of their income
  • Almost half (45.5%) of the responding artists have lost more than half of their income
  • These income impacts are markedly worse for artists of color and for performing artists
  • Only 3% of artists reported no impact

In response to the results, Amplify Arts has more than doubled its grants pool of funds, including its Micro Grant program, which awards up to $500 to local artists for supplies, software, research, professional development, or marketing and promotional materials.

Amplify Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes unity, innovation, and progress in the arts to build strong and vibrant communities.
