The Alzheimer’s Association Midlands Chapter has partnered with A Place at Home in presenting a Caregiver Education Series. The series will feature experts who will present topics of interest to caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.  The series will have weekly meetings, April 2nd through May 7th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The topics, in order of date, will be Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease: The Basics; Financial issues and Alzheimer’s Disease; Legal Issues and Alzheimer’s Disease; Current Treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias; Communication and Behaviors: “A Caregiver’s Toolbox”; and Senior Care Options: What You Don’t Know Will Cost You.  These weekly events will be held at the Marquis Place, located at 20800 West Maple Road in Elkhorn, NE.  There is no charge for this series but registration is requested. The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.  Since 1982, the Midlands Chapter has provided education, information and support to individuals afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related disorders, and supports the National Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association in its research for the prevention, cure, and treatment of AD and related disorders.
