AIM (aiminstitute.org) Tech Awards 2024, presented by Cox Business, will honor the outstanding achievements of tech talent and recognize those who have made a profound impact within the local tech community on Thursday, November 14 at 5:30 p.m. The 2024 AIM Tech Awards will be held at the exclusive Peter Fink Private Car Museum at 5808 North 90th Street.

AIM is proud to announce that this year’s AIM Tech Awards Honorary Chair is Al Lopez. Al is the CEO & Managing Partner of downtown Omaha’s Let It Fly Elevated Sports Bar, which recently opened its second location at 1311 S 203rd Street. Al is a multi-unit operations professional with 30 years of broad-based experience in hotel and restaurant management. A Creighton University alum, Al has successfully led teams at the United Nations, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase.

The event emcee is Rick Allen. Rick, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln alum, is the lead race announcer for NBC Sports’ NASCAR Xfinity Series race coverage. He has served as NBC Sports’ lead NASCAR Cup Series race caller and has been on the voting panel of the NASCAR Hall of Fame since its inception in 2010. Outside of motorsports, Rick has drawn on his experience as a 3-time All-American Decathlete to lead broadcasting efforts for a variety of track and field events, as well as the Boston Marathon and the World Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field Championships on NBC Sports.

Through education, career development and outreach, the nonprofit AIM Institute has fostered the growth of Omaha’s tech sector for 30 years. This annual awards ceremony and fundraiser will support AIM’s programs, which make outstanding educational opportunities and career training accessible to everyone.

The 2024 Tech Award Categories consist of K-12 Educator of the Year, Technology Innovator of the Year, Technology Leader of the Year and many more.
