One way the AIM Institute has fostered growth in the tech community is through a recent donation from AT&T and Human I-T, providing AIM Institute with 200 refurbished Chromebook computers to distribute to Omaha area residents in need.
The laptops were given to adult graduates of the AIM Code School, which offers accelerated training for high-demand tech skills to adults and career-changers. Close to 25 students in the TRIO program received the free laptops recently at Thomas Jefferson High School. AIM has a partnership with Council Bluffs Community School District, where it helps manage a TRIO program in some district schools.
This effort is part of the AT&T Connected Learning® initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
