Autism Action Partnership (AAP, autismaction.org) is teaming up with the Make Waves Center for Community Development (MWCCD) at the First Place Global Leadership Institute to produce the first- ever Omaha study to comprehensively address housing needs and preferences of adults living with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD). The Omaha Housing Market Analysis will collect market data, identify barriers and explore how public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors can collaborate in response to market demand.
MWCCD is forming a 15-person leadership advisory group to oversee the analysis of research conducted through online surveys taken from July 13 to August 20. Individuals with A/I/DD and their family members are invited to participate. A kickoff meeting will be held Thursday, July 13th from 6-7:30 p.m.

Results will be shared publicly in November 2023. “AAP simply could not pass on the opportunity for the Omaha region to be included in this exclusive national initiative,” said Justin Dougherty, president/CEO of AAP. “Utilizing funding from Front Porch Investments, we are honored to fund and facilitate this project with trusted partners. The final report will be shared publicly, furthering the impact of this effort on our community.”
