For the fifth year in a row, Midlands Mentoring Partnership (MMP) will bring together hundreds of youth providers, mentoring professionals, mentors, school personnel, community & business leaders, the Governor of Nebraska, the Mayor of Omaha, and a wide audience to focus on best practices for youth mentoring.  This year, MMP is also collaborating with the Metro Omaha Education Consortium (MOEC) and The Buffett Early Childhood Institute (BECI). MMP’s one-day Mentoring Summit will be held on March 19th at the CenturyLink Center and will feature New York Times best-selling author of How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity & the Hidden Power of Character, Paul Tough.

The summit will also feature nationally renowned mentoring experts, honorees for the Mentor of the Year and Advocate of the Year awards, and breakout sessions highlighting youth development best practices and new research. The Mentor of the Year being honored is Dakotah Taylor, a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands.  The Advocate of the Year being honored is Mutual of Omaha as a partner to Youth Emergency Services (YES) and many other mentoring organizations within MMP.  Cost for the luncheon is $50.00.  The cost to attend the luncheon and the workshops is $70.00.
