On June 9, many generous supporters competed in the 20th annual Prairie Life Fitness & Project Harmony (www.projectharmony.com) Golf Invitational at Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn benefiting Project Harmony and its mission to end child abuse and neglect.
Among the attendees was one very special person who has been instrumental to the success of this fundraising event, the president of Prairie Life Fitness Dean Rasmussen. Through his efforts net proceeds from the invitational have grown from $12,000 the first year to a total of 2.5 million over the past 20 years.
Highlights from the event included Kim Wolfe, owner of Midwest Medical Transport Company, flying overhead in the Husker Helicopter dropping golf balls in a special contest with a cash prize to the person whose ball fell the closest to a mark on the fairway. Golfers were also the first in Nebraska to launch a golf ball using the Dart Golf Ball Pro Launcher™ as their first swing at Red Feather and Black Bird Hole # 2. A number of Hole in One prizes were also available throughout the course including: $10,000 from Malbar Vision Center, a 2015 Jeep Renegade from Baxter, and a free Pebble Beach Golf Vacation in California from Finkle Cosmetic Surgery Center.
